I am a natural light, on-location photographer in Winfield, Kansas and the surrounding areas of South-Central Kansas.
I specialize in newborn, children, senior, family, maternity, and engagement photography (but am not limited to just those).

My approach is casual, laid-back and fun. I aim to capture real emotion and intimate family connections. Just be YOU!

This blog is where I share {sneak peeks} of recent sessions for my clients. I also post the latest news on special offers, products and contests. I would love to hear your feedback. If you are interested in booking a session with me, please visit the Elephant Juice Designs website!

It runs in the family...

Leaving a hat ON your head for more than 30 minutes

It all 'runs in the family' for this group of cousins!

Some (the moms of these cuties) would think this photo shoot was a "recipe for disaster." I guess it could be, when you're forcing your kids out in 40 degree temps and chilly winds. Especially when two of them are from Texas and NOT used to this crazy Kansas weather! Things started out a bit on the rough side for these cousins. As a photographer, I see it all the time...and it's my job to make the kids comfortable in front of my camera. The parents always stress the first 15 minutes, and before they know it, the kids are having a blast! Despite the numb hands and noses at the end of this session, we got a lot of keepers!

The {M} brothers
Meet big brother, Evan...
He's sober and serious one minute, then running and laughing the next. His momma is a blogger too, so it's obvious she takes lots of pictures, and he's comfortable in front of the camera. Fun little tid-bit about the picture below: Evan's dad had some of his senior pictures taken in the very same spot!

Meet little brother, Connor...
He's an absolute doll, and I just wanted to pinch those little cheeks! He could go from a big 'ol grin, to crocodile tears in just seconds.

The {P} siblings
Meet big sister, Daisy...
She is beautiful! The longer the shoot went on, the more sassy she got! I loved it! She was a little shy at the beginning of the session, but she warmed up fast.

Meet little brother, Gunnar...
Quiet and fast, but not afraid of my camera. He was always on the move, and those eyes could melt you!

Don't their moms have great style? I loved the reds, blues and browns!
They all had coordinating hats and brown boots! Hello, GAP models!

Thanks for braving the chilly weather!
I'll have your full gallery up soon!

Updates

Hello friends and clients!

I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday with the ones you love. Just wanted to give a few updates on holiday sessions and ordering. This past week has been busy with several Thanksgiving dinners, family in town and a big birthday celebration for me. Thank you for your patience. This is a very busy time of year for my business, and I am working as quickly as possible!

*If you have had a session in the last few days, a {sneak peek} will be posted for you here very soon! I know everyone is always anxious to see a few images from their session, so I really make it a priority to get these up for you, while you wait for your gallery!

* If you have had a session in the last week, and are waiting for your online proof gallery, it should be up soon! Current wait time for galleries to post is 7-10 days. I put a lot of time and love into processing your images, so I hope you consider it worth the wait!

For fun...here is a sample of my post-processing. This was a pretty simple edit. Alicia has beautiful skin, and the lighting at this session was amazing. The photo needed a little {wow}, but I didn't have to do much.

AFTER BEFORE

*If you are waiting on a Christmas card order that has already been placed, they will be in this week. I will contact you as soon as your envelopes are printed, and your order is ready for pick-up. I am expecting a new/replacement printer Monday! Wahoo!

*If you are waiting to place a Christmas card order, please make sure you have approved all digital samples in your inbox. I have several designs ready to be signed-off on. Deadline for placing card orders is December 12th.

*If you are planning to place a print order in time for Christmas gifting, please have your order in by: December 15th (Winfield clients) OR December 10th (out of town/state clients).

As always, thank you so much for you support.
Please feel free to email or call with any questions!

Take TWO

You might remember Alicia, from her senior session in September. At that session, we got the "summer" shots. We met up again last week, for another session to get some "winter" shots. I loved all the hats, scarves, boots and shoes she brought!

We had fun driving around to some different locations, and I entertained myself with the camera while she was making her wardrobe changes. The beauty of Fall changing to Winter...

Sorry to make you wait so long for your {sneak} Alicia!
I'll have your full gallery up soon! It was fun to work with you again!

Little St. Nick

What can I say? I LOVE this family!! They are so much fun, super sweet and they know how important it is to capture your child's milestones with pictures! Of course you remember Mr. Mason...I did his newborn session this summer, and this session in October! They ordered that first picture HUGE, and it looked awesome on their wall! It's still one of my most favorite images captured!

Mason was just as sweet as ever, and still lovin' my camera! We started at their home, since Rachel already had the tree up...it even had presents under it!! I was jealous! I ask her if they were real, of just empty "prop" boxes she wrapped up for the picture session-ha! They were real! The tree was beautiful, and their home felt so cozy and ready for Christmas!

Here's a {sneak} for you, Rachel & Kevin!
I'll have your full gallery up soon. Good luck deciding!

Thanks so much for having me back again {P} family!

Ansley Jane

Ahh...I sure do love a newborn! That soft baby skin; those tiny finger and tiny toes. You forget just how tiny they are. Especially when you turn around and your baby boy is 22 months old! It happens fast, so I really enjoyed snugglin' this little baby!

Sweet little Ansley got to have two newborn sessions! The first time I visited for pictures, she was only four days old! Ansley was pretty much wide awake for most of that visit, and I could tell Mommy was little stressed. She was hoping for more of those "sleepy baby" shots. I want my sessions to be anything but stressful, so I gladly agreed to come back in a week and try again. So, at eleven days old, she performed like a pro! She was a little more adjusted to her new home, and we got her nice and cozy! My little space heater does lots of traveling with me...and I love it. I always tell my clients, "it's not that your home is cold by any means, we just have to have the baby nice and toasty." If we're sweating, they are perfect!

Love this little smirk! See...she liked my heater :)

It's so much fun to work with first-time parents. Ansley's mommy and daddy were just beaming with pride for their baby girl. Of course they share every first-time parent's anxieties too! Well, Zach and Melissa, it's only normal! You are amazing parents, and you have a healthy baby girl. You have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Your whole world is changing, and you will never love anything more! Cherish every moment with your new bundle of joy!

Red Shoes...

They were the first thing I noticed, as she walked across the street with her sweet family to meet me for their session...her {red} shoes! They were perfect, and I was lovin' them! I could tell she was like me; all about the details! I was so excited for this session. Jordan is the brother of my best friends. I'd never officially met his wife and kids before. They are beautiful, and I loved their style!

I have lots of favorites from this session. I know that Cammie is anxious to see a few...enjoy your {sneak peek}!

Fall Colors

I went to El Dorado a few weeks ago, for pictures of my Aunt's family. She was blessed with three boys, so she's always handing down clothes and toys for Barrett. It's a great deal for us, and she has awesome style and taste! It was fun to get to work with family, and try out some new locations.

The leaves have all fallen from the trees now, and everything is losing its color. But we had a beautiful Fall for pictures. I love the golden colors we were able to capture at this session.
